From the Forest

A free display at V&A South Kensington, 23 February – 18 July 2022

In 2022, the V&A launched a 10-year initiative called Make Good: Rethinking Material Futures. The project explores how renewable, natural materials, especially wood, can be used more sustainably in design and architecture as the climate crisis becomes more urgent. The programme includes a yearly display, an annual symposium and a growing collection of new acquisitions.

I edited all the interpretive text for the first display, From the Forest, which brought together design works and material experiments that explore what forestry can teach us about circular, renewable production – and how designers can use wood more responsibly in design.

You can see images of the display here.
