Design 1900–Now
V&A South Kensington, opened 2021
This major gallery refresh saw the V&A’s 20th century gallery upgraded and brought bang up to date. Dedicated to 120+ years of design around the world, this new permanent gallery takes a more inclusive and global look at design and explores how design shapes and responds to our lives. Continually updated objects from the museum’s Rapid Response Collecting programme are sprinkled throughout the gallery, keeping the displays relevant and topical.
I edited all the interpretive text for the gallery and wrote about our interpretive strategy in this blog post.
